It’s Raining Books from XL/XLers… : From X Factor

It’s Raining Books from XL/XLers…

It seems that suddenly many Xlers decided to branch out into an altogether new territory – writing books. There are two schools of thought about this sudden avalanche. According to one, this is a way of compensating for not reading them while at XL, while other claims that they finally discovered that writing a book is easier than reading it J. In any case, last couple of months saw launch of as many as four books by Xlers:

Letters for Paul (Mapin Books), a novel by Anu Kumar (94PMIR) was formally released by Shyam Benegal at Crossword, Mumbai, and has received rave reviews. This is her second book, the first being a collection short stories, In Search of a Raja. Anu works with Economic & Political Weekly

20 short stories. All around women.

And therefore, the name of the book Unequal Equations (Pragya Prakashan), by Ministhy Dileep (98PMIR). Ministhy is now an IAS officer in UP cadre, and as one can see, also sketches (which are part of the book)

The G-Sec of the batch, MK Ajay (99PMIR), finally published his book of 17 short stories Drizzle of Yesteryears & Other Stories ((Frog Books). When not writing books, Ajay manages HR for an MNC in Kuala Lumpur, Malayasia. Check also:

Vijay Nair (87PMIR) published his first novel Master of Life Skills (Harper Collins) in May. His earlier book was a collection of plays The Gloomy Rabbit and other plays (Drone Quill), published in 2003. Vijay is an organizational consultant.

And lest one thinks that this book-publishing phenomenon was limited only to the alumni, here is another update. During the same period, XL faculty published 3 books.
