First Pan South India XLRI Alumni Meet, Bangalore, May19th ,2012

Dear XLAlumni:

Greetings from XLBangalore, where we are already abuzz with excitement and  preparations for the First ever Pan-South India XL Alumni Meet, to be held on May 19th,2012.

By now many of you would have received a personal invitation from our Director, Fr. Abraham,s.j., to this event.

This way  Fr.Abe is saved the need to travel all over S-India to keep in touch with the dearly beloved XL alumni (he himself is from the class of '78), and we get to renew our bonding with long lost  buddies we have traveled with through Chennai,Nellore, Vishakapatnam,Sambalpur,Titlagarh etc. on the trains to Tatanagar. Apart from Fr. Abe, we will also have with us Prof Sarin, Prof. Jomon, Prof. Madhukar Shukla, and hopefully, many more.We may also have some surprise but dearly loved XL support staff in our midst that night.

It is said that the greatest asset(apart from the learning ), that one  takes away from an Ivy League Management Institute such as  XL, is the branding and the  Buddy network of the Alma Mater. The Pan-South India event thus  offers us a renewed  opportunity to strengthen the Branding and our bonding, for the benefit of the Institute, the community and ourselves .

As you all know,we have have a vibrant XL Community in Bangalore, full of bonhomie, over the last 25 years. In fact we have  over 300 attendees  at our Annual Gala Summer Meets, with live  XLBands, drawn from XL musicians down the generations including past members of Bodhi Tree ,and great Deejays recreating the WetNite Mood. This time we are targeting 500 attendees!!

We are in the process of putting in place a committee that will create a great event and  cater to your accommodation ,transport and post-meet sight-seeing needs .We also hope to have a website in place with all relevant information at one site.

We will keep you posted on a regular basis as our preparations unfold.
But make sure you block May 19th on your calendar .

Let's get together XL'ers.
See you on Sat,19th May in beautiful Bangalore, where the cool weather and the Mayflower and Jacaranda blossoms await you and let's create some XL Magic!

Looking forward to meeting you here!!,

David D'Costa (BMD'76)
President, XLBang
