Les Margulis quits as President of R K SWAMY BBDO’s Media Direction; Rao comes in here from Times Global Broadcasting.

Ex-Times Global Broadcasting Chintamani Rao will join R K SWAMY BBDO’s Media Direction on 5th July, 2010 to replace Les Margulis. Les Margulis has put in his papers as President at Media Direction.RK Swamy Hansa Group’s official has confirmed the development to BestMediaInfo.com.
Prior to joining Media Direction, Chintamani Rao was made Vice Chairman in December 2009 at TGBCL to play a mentoring and strategic role for all the television businesses of Bennett, Coleman & Company Limited. Before that Rao took charge as CEO of Times Now in February 2008 by replacing Sunil Lulla who replaced him later in December last year.
Till 2005 Rao was associated with the advertising industry before joining India TV as CEO in September 2005.
He also, is the industry-appointed man to spearhead BARC (Broadcast Audience Research Council) as its Chairman, along with that he is one of the Board of Directors for NBA 2008-09.
Prior to taking on the role at India TV, Rao has 30 years of experience in the advertising industry, where he was associated with Universal McCann, and was responsible for all the non-advertising businesses of the group, including Result McCann (direct marketing and event management). In his advertising career, he has also been associated with other agencies such as O&M and Lintas, and has done stints in India and abroad.
